| Brian Hassan is a singer
song writer from Strabane in Northern Ireland. Having being described as
a cross between Tommy Flemming and Brian Kennedy or an Irish version of
John Mayer. His original material ranges from acoustic rock right
through to Irish folk. Over the years Brian has played support to many
artists including Sinead Lohan, Frances Black, Tommy Flemming, The
Fureys, Donal Lunney ,Colfin and Sharon Shannon. Brian has also appeared
on BBC and UTV at various times and also performed live on numerous
radio stations including Radio Ulster, Radio Foyle and Highland Radio.
Recently performances have included playing as one of the guests at the
Tyrone home coming party at Omagh Leisure Centre on 26/09/05 in front of
a crowd of over 20,000 people.
To promote live and original music Brian was one of the organisers of Strabane Un-plugged which runs acoustic nights on the first Monday of every month in the All-Stars Club at Main Street, Strabane. These nights feature artists and groups performing acoustically either original or cover material. Acts that have played include Brian himself as well as numerous artists including Henry McCullough, Pete O Hanlon, Marion Bradfield, Eves Majesty, Neil Alton , Nicky McCallan. Brian's new 8 track CD, "Live" contains six original songs self penned or co-written with other talented Irish writers and two Traditional Irish tracks. New songs include "Last dance alone", "It must be love" , "Lets Dance" and "Calling Time". The album is taken from live recordings made in The Waterfront, Belfast, The National Concert Hall, Dublin and The Empire Belfast.
